Asset Growth Strategies (AGS) is a newly formed
private equity partnership seeking to acquire positions in ongoing business
operations. While the partnership is
new, management brings significant experience and extensive resources. AGS’ capital under management comes from a
diverse group of investors lead by a private firm with over fifty years experience
and hundreds of deals completed in such diverse businesses as manufacturing,
distribution, retail, real estate, banking, insurance, utilities, chemicals,
communications, software, and basic commodities. Additional capital from high net worth investors and select
institutions is available to the partnership through long-standing syndication
relationships.
AGS will invest primarily in
buy-outs, either management led or those that result in a change of management,
and will also consider minority investments in business in which we can add value
beyond our monetary contribution. The
companies we desire will, at a minimum, generate predictable revenues and
positive cash-flow. Our preferred
acquisition targets are turnaround opportunities when the situation has not yet
become critical.
- We will provide from $3-5 million in equity for
a single transaction, but several times this amount may be made available
through syndication for special opportunities. Actual capitalization may be much higher to the extent that
operations will support reasonable amounts of leverage.
- We prefer to be the
lead investor and will seek syndication only when necessary.
- If we do not assume
management responsibilities, we will require seats on the company's board
of directors in order to work with management on operational and strategic
issues.
- We will consider
investing in a variety of companies, but prefer businesses in such
traditional areas as basic materials, manufacturing, consumer products,
and distribution. In addition,
industry growth trends may weigh heavily into our investment decisions.
